"Touching that historical time-capsule below the seas"

Martin also founded and set up his own Shipwreck Centre and Maritime Museum on the Isle of Wight in 1978, which houses thousands of items he has recovered from the seabed over the years, along with other maritime and diving exhibits. The museum is still operating to this day at Arreton Barns Complex, Isle of Wight, UK. After 40 years as a 'one man band' running the museum, Martin decided in 2017 to merge with the Southampton-based Maritime Archaeology Trust and for them to take on the overall management of the museum, hopefully progressing it to new horizons. Although Martin still owns the collection and is still involved, he is keen to ensure that it continues into the future as an exhibition of our local maritime heritage.
